Competitive position
| Who | Overlap | Where Glow differs |
|---|---|---|
| Google Maps | Business discovery | No provider-level graph, no opinion, no comparison |
| Beauty content, stylist showcase | No structure, no search, no price | |
| Justdial | Local directory + SMB ads | Horizontal, transactional, no community |
| Urban Company | Beauty services | Fulfilment, not discovery or community |
| Nykaa / Tira / Purplle | Beauty products | Commerce, blind to local services |
| Reddit / WhatsApp | Community knowledge | Unstructured, unsearchable, disappears |
The honest version
Glow's differentiation is narrow: provider-level structured opinion, in one vertical, in one city. Google could add service-level structure. Instagram is improving search. Justdial could go vertical.
The defence isn't the feature — it's the accumulated first-party graph, which is worth nothing on day one and progressively harder to replicate every month it compounds. That's exactly why the consumer loop is what gets proven first.
Moat by horizon
| Horizon | What actually defends |
|---|---|
| 0–12 months | Nothing durable. Execution speed and the supply pipeline. |
| 12–36 months | Local density, provider graph, advertiser relationships, search footprint. |
| 36 months + | Longitudinal preference data, brand relationships, owned distribution. |
